Look, beach hotels are tough to rate because places near the beach suffer the same fate as all places near the beach, namely the mildew sort of smell due to the humidity. There isn't central air conditioning, so not surprisingly the room we stayed at smelled a bit mildewy. It is is what it is. If you can live with it, then the place is fine. Turn on the air conditioning which somewhat mitigates the smell.

To be clear, I would stay here again. I'm giving this place three stars because of the cost, location, and bang for the buck given my research into the competition.

Debated giving this four or five stars on a relative basis to other options, but opted to give three stars on an absolute basis. I wouldn't stay here if it was inland, but as beach hotels go it was pretty darn good.

The woman at the front desk mistakenly gave us a rate for 1 night, but the room was a 2 night minimum. Instead if apologizing for misspoken quote, she became argumentative and nasty...she blatantly lied and said she never said that. When we asked Mark the "manager" to honor the rate we were quoted, he was belligerent and used profanity. This is not a family friendly establishment. These people are COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL and crass. The pool is filthy and run down. Stay somewhere else!!!!

Clean and spacious. More than I expected. Worth the price.

Some reviewers on various websites (Google, TripAdvisor, Yelp) alluded to rudeness by staff. DIdn't see that at all. I wonder whether they mistook the Jersey personality with rudeness. We had nothing but pleasant interactions with the staff. Again, I wonder if it's people expecting the Hilton experience at a beach hotel which just doesn't happen.

My family and I have been staying here for years. Great location and service. The beach is like a two minute walk away. It is a short drive to get to the boardwalk. Plenty of food walking distance. Clean room, clean pool. There's a game room as well. Great place for families.

After searching high and low for a last minute place to stay on an impromptu vacation I found Beach Club Hotel. I was worried as everyone else I had called seemed to be sold out. All my worries we're unfounded. The BCH is a perfect place to stay. Our room was very clean, smelled clean and was close to the beach. The lady I booked with over the phone could have been misunderstood to be rude but in my opinion she was merely trying to make sure I understand all my options and the hotel rules. Overall my wife and l we're very happy with our room and the BCH as well.

The rooms themselves are fine. We had a two room situation, a bedroom and a separate living room with a large TV, kitchen area (microwave and refrigerator with silverware already there) and couch. We went to the Acme supermarket in Seaside Heights and stocked up on things for our three day stay. The beach itself is maybe 100 yards away and doesn't require crossing the street. Lastly, this place caters to a family crowd and was quiet, a big deal for us.
